Who Is Handling Your Social Media Campaign?

In the early days of social media and internet marketing the job of managing that campaign often fell to the marketing employee who had the most free time during the day. Updating, liking, sharing were all fairly easy to handle when you were using just Facebook and Twitter.

Those days are gone and today an effective marketing campaign might include 5 or 6 different social media platforms with much more attention being paid to actively engaging your audience numerous times in a day, if possible.  Your Social Media Manager should be expected to plan and execute your strategy and handle customer interaction with the utmost level of customer care.

The candidate that you consider for this position should exhibit a skill set that includes:

  • Content Creator

With fresh and relevant content being the driving force behind your SEO efforts, your candidate should be able to generate this content and share it with your target audience in a straight-forward but friendly manner.  They should be able to discuss the content that they have shared as well.

  • Find Your Audience

This person should have a very clear understanding of your brand so that they can find your potential customers and engage them using social media.  They should also understand how to use keywords and marketing reports to find your targeted audience.

  • Stay Current and On Topic

Once your audience has been engaged, your Social Media Manager should respond to any initiation of conversation in a timely manner. They should stay up-to-date with your businesses current status and products so that they can effectively create a customer during their interactions.  This is a person that you should have confidence in and really trust to protect your presence on the web.
