Your website is often the first impression of your business for potential customers. As such, it is essential that your website portrays your business the way you want to be seen so you don’t lose business. If a potential customer has issues with your website or doesn’t like what they see, they probably won’t want to work with you.

Four Reasons Your Website Design Is Causing You To Lose Business

This means you could be losing customers without even knowing it. Here are 4 reasons why your website may be causing you to lose out on new business:

1. It’s badly designed and/or not up to date.

Looks really do matter when making a first impression. By having a modern website, you show customers that your business is relevant and up-to-date on the latest technology. If your website hasn’t been updated in ten years, or has an outdated design, it may be time to redesign.

2. It’s difficult to navigate.

This goes hand-in-hand with design. If your website is too cluttered or doesn’t have a clear way to navigate, customers may get frustrated or leave before finding the information they need. Make sure to keep your site simple, with clear links to important information.

3. It doesn’t contain essential information.

Include all information a person might need to know before they purchase your product or service, including contact information. It may seem simple, but it can be easy to miss small details when creating your site. Customers who can’t figure out how to contact you or how much something is will likely move on to another company.

4. Your site has technical issues.

This is one of the most common ways businesses lose customers who are visiting their website. Technical problems can have a huge effect on a person’s experience with your website and may even prevent them from conducting business with you. Broken links or slow loading times can make your website unusable, so go through and make sure your site is functioning properly.
