Regardless of what type of site you run, one of the most common questions you probably ask is, “How can I get more visitors to my website?” You’re not alone in asking this question. Many businesses grow frustrated by their lack of traffic too. Even the best website often encounters this problem.

How to get more visitors to your website

It’s not easy to get thousands of visitors per month, but it’s definitely doable. With this in mind, here are some tips that can help you get more visitors to your website:

Create an amazing blog

One that captures people’s attention by always delivering content that’s valuable, useful, and entertaining (e.g. spend a whole blog post on one singular idea, give concrete examples). Make sure you end with a question that invites people’s comments.

Give away some of your best, most valuable work

(E.g. the first chapter of your book, a free report or e-book, the best track on your album, a design template, high-resolution photos, a tutorial series, videos people can embed on their website) for free. Make sure you include a Creative Commons license so people clearly know what they can and cannot do with your content.

Guest post on other websites

This will allow you to borrow their audience instead of spending a long time starting from scratch, building your own. Your payment for writing high-quality blog posts for other websites in your niche is your link back to your website through which you can land hundreds of new subscribers.

Circulate your content via social and portfolio websites

(E.g. Behance, Contently). Just make sure you share more of other people’s work than your own so you position yourself as an authority in your niche.

Please note: None of these methods are a quick fix.

They all require time, effort, and perseverance, but in turn they offer cumulative results (e.g. links, subscribers, more visitors whom you can turn into customers). If you still need some help getting traffic to your website, contact The Sherwood Group. We’re happy to help!
