No matter if you’re a single-person contractor, or a 300-employee firm, client loyalty can be the breath or the bane of your business. With the ever-changing environment of the business world, so too, must our ideas about client retention change.
Following are a few ways to help you entertain, engage, inspire your clients for better, long-lasting relationships.
Entertain
Sure, taking a client out to a great restaurant, with amazing service is a great way to entertain them. However, those interactions are likely not going to be on a very regular basis. What about your day-to-day collaborations? Keeping a jovial attitude can go a long way. A well placed joke, or spin on words doesn’t hurt either. Always remember to keep it classy. You want to be clever and witty, not offensive.

Engage
If someone is paying for your services, you can be sure they expect to feel as if they have your full attention. Keep them involved and engaged as much a possible. Don’t speak to them in technical and confusing jargon. Do email and hold phone conferences on a regular basis. This lets the client know they are a priority, and if they feel that way, they are sure to sing your praises.
Inspire
Be enthusiastic! Not only for your client, but for your team! Always try to find the silver-lining of a situation. Bring only positivity to the table and leave no room for doubt or misgivings. Confidence is key.
