If you have ever asked yourself the question “Why does my business need a blog?” maybe it’s time to take another look at blogging and how it can help your business. There are many great reasons why I blog… (and maybe you should consider blogging too.)

Why I Blog… (and Maybe You Should Too)

Many small businesses are uncomfortable with social media, and think that they simply do not have time for a blog. If a business wants to be found among the thousands of online competitors, they need to use every tool that is available, including blogging. Keeping up-to-date with a corporate blog is time-consuming, and it can be difficult to come up with topics that are relevant to your audience. Blogging can help you gain a wider audience, and is a marketing strategy that you cannot afford to miss out on.

Still not convinced? Here are some pretty strong statistics to back up the results gained from blogging (and why I blog):

  • 92% of companies who blog multiple times per day have acquired a customer from their blog. (Source: HubSpot)
  • B2B marketers who use blogs generate 67% more leads per month than those who do not. (Source: FactBrowser)
  • Once a site has over 300 indexed pages, traffic generation increases by 236%.  Blogs greatly increase the number of indexed pages a site has. (Source: Sigma Web Marketing)
  • B2C companies that blog generate 88% more leads per month than those that do not. (Source: Rick’s Tips)

Some companies believe that their reputation and success depends on great service and excellent product alone. Although those are important, blogging can take your business to the next level:

  • A solid social media strategy can include a well-written business blog that engages the reader, directs traffic to your website, and ranks high in online search engines.  A blog can provide cross-promotional marketing opportunities for Twitter, Facebook or email marketing. Fresh, well-written content will attract more visitors to your site, and promotes repeat visits and referrals via word-of-mouth.
  • Your business blog is the perfect platform to showcase your expertise and personality and make your business stand out from the rest of the pack.
