Many women (and men) have a successful business that they run out of their homes. Many try to raise their children at the same time (without any help). Though it can be nice to have help, it is not always possible. Many people find that they have a lot of workplace issues when they try to raise their children and run a business together. However, with a bit of planning, anything is possible.
Here are some tips to help you have a successful business with children at home.
Use uninterrupted time wisely.
Work quickly and efficiently when your children are at school, napping, or with friends. Be prepared and organized so that when you have time, you can use that time as efficiently as possible.
When your children are playing quietly. . .
. . . you also need to use that time wisely. Some days, you might find that you can work for a few hours. Other days, you might be lucky to be able to work for an hour or so.
Hopefully, you will have a supportive spouse. . .
. . . who will watch the children when he (or she) gets home from work so that you can have uninterrupted time to work.
Have special toys that only come out. . .
. . . when you have important calls to make. Your children will be excited to play with these toys and will hopefully be quiet when you need them to be.
Schedule play dates.
Many mothers try to find other mothers to switch off babysitting. That way, you can watch her children in exchange for her to take yours for a few hours another day. This can be a way to get free babysitting while also giving your children a way to socialize with other children.
Though it can be hard to work with children at home, it is possible. Some days, you might feel like you can do it all while other days, you might not get anything done. Hopefully you will have some help, whether you have a supportive spouse, family, or friends who will watch your children to allow you a little bit of uninterrupted time to work. Otherwise, use any time wisely and be prepared for it when the time comes.

It was in the best interest of my children to quit my lucrative sales job and remain at home. I worked several part-time jobs, but started an Amish tax service and created a Bed and Breakfast–if I couldn’t get out into the world, the world would come to me. This arrangement including the part-time jobs gave me the flexibility to meet my children’s needs. As they attended elementary and high school, I also became a substitute teacher and had many days in their classrooms. They learned all aspects of owning a business and when they were older, they could take guests at a moment’s notice. I ended up at a single mom raising three children who are now successful adults utilizing the skills they acquired during their childhood years. If I could name one drawback it is the fact that we were always at the poverty level and life for me was round-the-clock work. All of us became resourceful and I would do it all over again. We are all free spirits following the promptings of our hearts with realistic goals.

I am raising 4 daughters all of which are working or in school and sports except the youngest who is only 2. I absolutely love the ability to work from home and what it allows for my children. I have a home office and have worked successfully as a B2B lead generator. Challenges and there are some! Noise ,Focus, staying connected to the company and its bottom line and reason for your services are highly important, Getting up and getting ready for your day are also very important.

It is good idea to develop business from home while taking care of children/household. It depends on the way you are specialised. Like, if you are an architect then you can design and plan of buildings against payment for others. If you have idea about fashion then can design clothing, make them by yourself and sell. If you are good at writing then start writing. What it need is planning and start.

I get my sons involved in my business so they better understand what I do. As Lori mentioned, it teaches them organization, customer service and time management skills etc.
