Email marketing is as strong as ever and it seems there will be no decline in 2014. While there is no way to forecast the future and see what email marketing trends of 2014 will actually be, here at least are our best guesses.
Mobile
- By 2014, mobile internet usage will be used more than desktop internet usage.
- 66% of Gmail opens occur on mobile devices, with only 19% opened in a web browser.
- More than a third of all adults own a tablet device.
Content
From websites, banner ads, email marketing and SMS, subscribers are not going to sit back and except the regular old content they have seen in the past. Make your emails have more interactive content such as surveys or contests.
Automation
For email marketers it is crucial to keep the conversation going after someone has signed up for your emails. There are birthday offers, loyalty programs and post-purchased thank you emails that can keep you in contact with your subscribers.
Data
This is one of the most important things about email marketing. It is important to put in a lot of content and not just send a small email. Also make it personal. As the New Year approaches take a look back at your emails hits and misses. Keep track of what worked and either improve on things that didn’t or don’t go down that route again.
Google & Slideshare
These are going to be big and important in 2014. Google is the second largest social network with over 359 million monthly viewers. SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing presentations.
Location Based Marketing
This allows you to send multi-media to directly to someone with a mobile device.
Social Media Diversity
Social media has always been big in marketing but now companies are using social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest.
