How many social media platforms does your company utilize for generating or expanding networks? If you limit yourself to merely Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, you run the risk of losing out on the potential for thousands of followers. Google reports that no less than half a billion people use their social networking platform monthly, with a billion and a half photos uploaded each week alone. How can a company maximize their exposure by incorporating a Google+ page into their marketing plan?
Search Engines, Search Social
The day when a social media platform and a search engine become one has long since passed us. Google+ still retains the top position in the pecking order of the Internet, reports Alexa, but Facebook has aggressively barked up Google’s tree by releasing their own search system. A company needs to create social media pages on as many platforms as possible so that they rank high in social searches as well as search engines. The good news? Google+ helps you to get to the top of their search platform by giving increased returns for incorporating links, shares, plus-1s, and followers.
Hangout Easily And Quickly
Incorporating a hangout into your company’s customer feedback policy makes a lot of sense. Not only do people prefer to talk with a human being than a computer, but they prefer to talk with a person face to face instead of on a phone line, since iTok reports that one in three customers find a customer support response unhelpful. Create Google Hangouts as a customer support mechanism, but be sure you bring the fastest connection to the table to minimize lag and maximize response success. You can research Verizon Internet availability in your area to consider an upgrade to fiber optic cable for your support staff. This not only keeps the conversation flowing smoothly, but makes each call faster since a non-choppy stream lets both sides communicate effectively.

Respond To Everything, Without Question
Few things in life generate more frustration than being ignored. Ignoring customers creates a huge amount of risk for a company, since the label of “unfriendly” can take years and resources to shrug off. eMarketer reports that half of all businesses who use social media platforms fail to follow up on customer input, simply leaving all comments to hang in the air regardless of their intent or tone. Whenever a customer takes the time to write a comment on your company’s Google+ platform, take the time to thank them for their input and address any concerns they bring up. This not only generates positivity, but encourages shares on social platforms as more and more followers see an opportunity to be heard.
Events
Want to have a Black Friday blowout or throw an opening party that will get headlines? Putting the word out has never been easier than with Google Events. Following the same formula as Facebook events, a Google+ user can invite participants to an event with details on place, time, and what to expect. What’s more, you can integrate these events into a Google calendar so that you know how to budget your time for the day.
