Here are some tips to help you be more productive in your business.

Before you leave every night…

(Or first thing in the morning), make a list of everything that you need to do for the next day. Put this in order of importance. Then, when you come in to work, you will be able to just sit down and get started.   Some people work better if they start their morning off making their list.
Have a weekly (or biweekly) list of things that need to be accomplished. Make sure that you re-evaluate this weekly or biweekly. Maybe you can accomplish more or you are too stressed because you are putting too much on your plate. You might discover that you need to hire a little help so that you can finish a project that really needs to get done.

Keep your office organized and free from clutter.

File papers right away so when you need something, you can find an important paper right away. Have plenty of scrap paper and pens available. Have your laptop plugged in and ready to go. Many people find that their minds wonder and they worry about cleaning up their desks when it is really cluttered.

Time management is one of the hardest parts…

Of running your own business. No one is telling you to get to work. You have to have the motivation to put in the work. So, end each evening by making a list of things that need to be done the next day. You should also have a weekly (or biweekly) list and re-evaluate it to see if you are getting enough done. Also, keep your office space clean and organized. Nothing slows you down like searching for papers when you should be working.
