We’ve all have been there. Business is down, and we desperately need a new source of cash flow to keep the doors open. So, to help you out, here are a couple of ideas for growing your business that can help you get rolling and flowing again.

Create a Digital Magazine

Keep in mind that, when creating your own magazine, your aim is not to directly promote your business but to simply provide information on a variety of subjects that engage your target market emotionally. You can still mention your products but only in appropriate places and articles. Also, it is a good idea to have varied content, including videos, to make your magazine all the more interesting.

Brionna Kennedy shares several reasons why having a digital magazine is a great way to grow your business:

Digital magazines are an option that many businesses choose to integrate into their overall marketing strategy. For example, if a business makes video games, it may create a magazine that focuses on reviews and the latest games on the market. Customers can download the magazine on the company website or from an app, thereby eliminating the cost of printing and mailing hard-copy magazines.

Become a Teacher

A good way of attracting more customers is by providing customers and clients with something more than your products or services. As this Business Insider article points out, a great additional service you can offer is educational information about your field of expertise or about the areas where your products or services are used.

How do you implement this? As always, a blog comes in handy for delivering educational content to your customers. However, instead of having your educational content published on the company blog which may abound with various promotions, you might look into creating a separate blog dedicated to sharing your ideas and expertise. This way, readers will get to your educational content easily, rather than having to search for it among the other posts in the company blog.

Another great way to provide educational ideas to customers and expand your reach in your community is to create videos of live demonstrations and events. If yours is a restaurant, for instance, you can do demos of how to prepare some of your popular dishes. This also gives you the opportunity to mingle with potential customers and entice them to try your offerings. You might also offer a “Lunch and Learn” program in your community offering topics of interest to your target market.

Offer Other Companies’ Products

This suggestion from Vanessa Nornberg might seem counter intuitive, but it can actually help you get more customers or clients. The idea here is to look for other companies’ products or services that complement your own and sell them at a discounted price. Thus, you will be able to attract a larger customer base.

Of course, keep in mind that you might have to come to an agreement with the other company on the resale of their goods. However, many companies are often very open to this type of partnership, as it is also a means to help them expand.

When All Else Fails…

Pick up the phone and call everyone that you’ve ever done business with. Sometimes clients and customers have misplaced our contact information and will be happy that you called. Even if this isn’t the case, it’s a good idea to stay in touch. Some one of these may have a referral for new business and you have called at the perfect time!
